On the outskirts of Rabat, along the road leading from Attard to the Saqqajja Hill in Rabat, lies a unique natural formation known as the “Jesus Tree”. This tree earned its name due to the shape of its trunk and branches, which resemble the figure of Christ on the cross.
Legend and History
According to local legend, the tree was struck by lightning, after which its trunk formed into a shape resembling a crucifix. This attracted the attention of locals and pilgrims, who began to regard the tree as sacred, often leaving flowers and candles at its base.
